Dr. Erica Jayne Friedman is a 2014 graduate of the social and personality psychology program at the CUNY Graduate Center. She was a CLAGS Travel Award winner for her presentation on drag kings at the 2010 Lesbian Lives Conference in Brighton, England. She is also a SPSSI Clara Mayo Award winner for her research on the ways in which people explain differences between transgender and cisgender people. Her dissertation research focused on misgendering as one outcome of cisgenderism in social systems and cognition. Dr. Friedman is currently Assistant Project Director for the Research-Aligned Mentorship program at Farmingdale State College.
