Jess Lee is a doctoral student in Sociology at the University of California, Irvine. Her research focuses on the intersection of gender, sexuality, racial and ethnic identities, and culture. She received her B.A. in Gender Studies from Mount Holyoke College, a M.A. in Liberal Studies from the City University of New York, Graduate Center, and is expected to earn a M.A. in Sociology from the University of California, Irvine in June. Her current research investigates how black LGBT individuals manage their racial and sexual identity salience in understanding the impact of the legalization of same-sex marriage on their personal lives.
