Jesus Barrios

Jesus Barrios is a queer immigrant from Mexico, he was raised in Southern CA, and is now based in New York City. For the past eight years, he has worked in different capacities advancing social efforts at the intersection of health, immigration, and queerness. His undergraduate and graduate training are in public health, and is currently in his third year at Callen-Lorde Community Health Center where he works in sexual health program planning, implementation, and evaluation. Finally, he is the lead investigator of “Behind Bars Without Citizenship: Immigration Detention and Queer Public Health in the Deportation Era,” which explores and finds solutions for the health implications of US immigration detention on LGBTQ people.
