Amy Brainer is Assistant Professor of Women’s & Gender Studies and Sociology at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Her current book project, provisionally titled Gendering Home: Queer Kinship and Family Change in Taiwan, focuses on generational shifts in how queer and trans people, heterosexual parents, and siblings navigate sexuality and gender in their relationships. She is published in various anthologies and journals, including Sexualities, Journal of Family Issues, and Feminist Formations. A second research project explores the ways in which queer and trans people navigate family-based immigration to the United States.
