Heather McKee Hurwitz, Ph.D., is a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Department of Sociology and the Athena Center for Leadership Studies at Barnard College in New York City. She studies gender, feminist studies, social movements, and global studies using qualitative and quantitative methods. Her research focuses on the Occupy Wall Street Movement, global feminisms, and activism using new social media. Her goals are to research and transform how sexism, racism, and other social inequalities shape contemporary social movements, culture, and leadership.
