Mara Pieri

Mara Pieri (Centre for Social Studies, University of Coimbra). Mara Pieri is a queer academic, artist and activist. She graduated in Sociology at University of Trento (Italy) and is currently a PhD student in the “Human Rights in Contemporary Societies” Doctoral Program at the Centre for Social Studies in Coimbra (Portugal). Her work focuses on migrations and queer subjects. Her research interests are also related to intersections between human rights and queer epistemology. As actor and performer she worked in several shows dealing with transgender, LGBT issues and precariousness.
