Pete serves as Pride for Youth’s Director, where he is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations of the program along with program development and grant writing. Pete also carries a caseload of counseling clients, providing both individual and family counseling to YMSM up to age 30, as well as founding PFY’s HIV Positive Support Group for young men. In addition he also provides trainings on LGBTQ issues, HIV/STI and PrEP/PEP to professionals throughout Long Island and Queens.
A New York State licensed clinical social worker; Pete has 20 years experience working in the field. He is the recent recipient of NYS DOH 2014 Commissioners Special Recognition Award for improving the health and well-being of NYS LGBTQ community in addition to having been appointed to membership in the NYS HIV Advisory Body as well as the chair of the Nassau County Ending the AIDS Epidemic steering committee. Pete is also an adjunct faculty member in the Human Services program at Nassau Community College, as well as a trainer on HIV related topics, throughout NYC, for the Stony Brook Center for Public Health Education.
